Hi guys,
What better way to finish the year than with a refreshing hike up Ireland's 25th tallest mountain?
We are proposing this hike for our Scouts and Ventures.
We will be meeting at the Scout Hall at 8.45am, and we will be travelling by Mini bus to Killarney.
There is a €10 cost for everyone travelling.
We hope to be back at the hall for approx. 6pm. If there is a change of time we will contact the parents. We will be climbing Mangerton mountain in Killarney. We are hoping for some snow all going well.
We need everyone who would like to attend to email [email protected] by the 28th December to confirm that they are attending. We do need minimum numbers of 5 scouts attending to make it work.
Gear List:
The gear list as same as usual, with particular emphasis on warm hat, gloves, scarf, thick socks with Hiking Boots. It will be cold! Many t-shirt layers are preferrable and suitable pants, NO jeans please. Please bring a full change of clothes also to be left on the bus. A rucksack with 2 shoulder traps is the best.
Food:
Please bring a packed lunch for the day, and if possible a warm drink in a flask would be much appreciated on top of a snowy mountain :)
Thank you very much, we hope you can make it.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
YIS
